Hi, I'm Dorrit -
I am a Chattanooga-based land and ecology designer, practitioner, and educator. I believe land care and people care are intimately connected, and that we begin to heal our relationship with ourselves when we heal our relationship with the land.
My goal is to help people build productive, resilient, and beautiful landscapes while reclaiming their connections to land, food, and community (both human and non-human community!).
My practice is influenced by restorative ecology, regenerative agriculture, permaculture principles, herbal healing, native gardening, and numerous other teachers and guides I have learned from on my journey.

During a consultation, I will help you articulate your vision for the land and plan actionable steps towards your vision while honoring your budget and resource constraints. Consultations can be great for people who want to do the physical work themselves and need some direction on how to get there. I offer guidance to established land owners, as well as people in the process of purchasing land who are considering the ecological resilience and possibilities of a property as part of the decision-making process.
We'll start with a free 30 minute consultation to see if my services are a good fit for you. From there, I will visit the site with you to do a site assessment, help you articulate your vision for the land, and establish a budget. I will render a design based on all the information gathered. I will review the design with you during the design review process and incorporate any feedback. After the design is complete, I am happy to provide installation and maintenance services in accordance with the design.
I facilitate educational experiences related to ecology, soil health, designing resilient landscapes, growing food, and more.
